Jakarta Promotes Thousand Islands Tourism in Mandalika

The Jakarta Government presents the pieces of Thousand Islands' beauty in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara. The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) and Thousand Islands Regency held an exhibition at Mandalika MotoGP event through Mandalika Experience Expo at Mandalika Circuit.

The exhibition has been ongoing from March 18 to 20, 2022. In the event, the government cooperated with travel agents in the tourism industry to sell tour packages to Thousand Islands.

Jakarta Disparekraf Head Andhika Permata conveyed, through the MotoGP Mandalika event, visitors could see up close the charms o f Thousand Islands.

"Not only promoting tourism packages, we also encourage creative economy entrepreneurs to introduce their products. We join the SME Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Cooperative and Small Medium Enterprises (KUKM) at Mandalika Circuit by bringing our two best brands, namely D’Craft and SSDJ. Hopefully, Indonesian people can get to know creative economy products from Jakarta," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release on Saturday (3/19).

Side by side with Mandalika as the 10 New Balis, Thousand Islands has a hidden marine paradise whose beauty is no less captivating for tourists, especially those who like marine recreational activities.

Thousand Islands has potential that can be compared to other beach destinations in Indonesia such as Raja Ampat or Mandalika, where all of these places have similarities in terms of topography where they are surrounded by a group of beautiful islands and a variety of marine recreational activities.

Thousand Islands has the potential for marine tourism and island tourism. People not only travel to Thousand Islands during long vacations but also for a short vacation, short escape, healing, and others.

There are many attractions offered by Thousand Islands, ranging from mangrove forests, turtle and shark conservation, snorkeling, to cultural heritage.

Thousand Islands has 113 islands consisting of 11 inhabited islands, 7 resort islands, and a conservation island with the best locations to enjoy the beauty of sunset and ocean views.

For tourists who want to experience the hospitality of local residents, he suggested staying at homestays on Tidung Island, Untung Jawa Island, and Pramuka Island.
